Though VitrA's close-coupled toilets tend to be the most commonly used, back to wall toilets have a lot of advantages. They can be ideal for tight spaces, where the cistern can be hidden away in the wall to save a significant amount of space. They are also easier to clean since they don’t have as many out-of-the-way edges and corners as a close-coupled toilet, and the pipes are concealed within the body of the toilet. They are comparable to wall hung toilets, but they tend to be a little more economical thanks to their floor-standing base. Back to wall toilets do not need a substantial framework to be mounted to.
Of course, the advantages of a back to wall toilet are more than functional—the choice of a back to wall style can greatly compliment the rest of your bathroom, especially if the cistern is concealed in a cabinet that matches the rest of your bathroom furniture. If space is at a premium in your bathroom but you don’t want—or can’t—conceal your cistern in the wall, there is also the option of pairing your back to wall toilet with a raised cistern.
VitrA S20 Back to Wall Toilets
VitrA offers a range of back to wall toilet designs, so there will invariably be something to suit any bathroom. The VitrA S20 is a particular highlight, being one of the most affordable back to wall toilets on the market, while still maintaining the clean design language that is prevalent throughout VitrA’s sanitary ware products.
VitrA Integra Back to Wall Toilets
If financial constraints are a little looser, the VitrA Integra Back to Wall Pan is a supremely stylish take on the back to wall toilet, re-imagining the traditional toilet design with cleaner lines for a more modern look. The toilet itself is compact, making it ideal for those bathrooms where space is at a premium, but that compact nature does not come at the expense of comfort, as the Integra still has a comfortable seating size. The Integra is manufactured from strong Vitreous China and is finished in classic white—stylish and durable.
VitrA Valarte Back to Wall Toilets
For a design with a more classical air to it, the VitrA Valarte Back to Wall WC is a toilet with a lot of character. The design language of this toilet evokes images of Victorian furniture, with embossed edges and a generously sized seating space. At the same time, the toilet is a thoroughly modern product, and effortlessly fuses clean, straight edges with those Victorian-esque features. Like other back to wall toilets, the VitrA Valarte conceals its plumbing within the body of the toilet, and can be paired with a similarly concealed cistern—either set into the wall, in a purpose-made cabinet, or suspended above the toilet. It also comes with three different toilet seat options.
