Vitra Countertop Basin

VitrA Countertop Basins

Countertops are an excellent way to create functional space in a bathroom, as well as add a stylish minimalist look to the room. Of course, pedestal and wall-hung basins are perfect for many situations, but when it comes to countertops and VitrA’s vanity units, countertop basins are a great solution.

VitrA’s range of countertop basins encompasses different shapes and sizes, from squared designs to round ones, from compact to luxuriously spaced. Countertop basins sit proud of the countertop (though some may still be partially inset) and provide an aesthetically pleasing visual in addition to a basin that is stylish and comfortable to use.

Countertop basins are often combined with wall-mounted taps or a stunning set of VitrA’s basin taps that can be mounted to the countertop and, as a result, have to be a little taller than an average tap to clear the edge of the basin. While this often means a little extra work during the installation process, it does give you a greater degree of flexibility regarding how you arrange your basin area.

VitrA Shift Countertop Washbasin

The VitrA Shift Countertop Washbasin is of a sleek, simple design that complements a minimalist style superbly. There are no tap or overflow holes to break up the seamless surfaces of the bowl and it sports a much thinner rim than a typical basin, adding to the contemporary feel.

As with all VitrA basins, the workmanship is exceptional, and VitrA backs that up with a 2-year guarantee. The basin sits 380 mm proud of the countertop, as is 550 mm wide. This gives you plenty of basin to work with, while not being so wide that it can’t be used with a compact vanity unity or short countertop. If you’re going for the clean, minimalist look, the VitrA Shift is one of the best basins out there.

VitrA M-Line Countertop Basin

The VitrA M-Line is a more traditional style of basin than the Shift, with a thicker rim and an overflow hole, but its use of clean edges allows it to maintain that contemporary feel.

The M-Line is a little more flexible, however, with four different options when it comes to width, starting at a very compact 400 mm, and stretching up to a spacious 800 mm. If you want to go for an even more minimalist look, you can also choose to have your M-Line without the overflow.

There is also a VitrA M-Line Round Countertop Basin for an alternative look. That option comes in 445mm or 595mm variants and can be with or without an overflow hole.

VitrA Valarte Countertop Basin

Among VitrA products, the Valarte name is synonymous with a fusion of contemporary and classical styles—combining modern straight lines with Victorian detail, and the VitrA Valarte Countertop Basin is in keeping with that style.

This basin boasts a distinctive four-hole overflow arrangement but does not come with tap holes as it is designed to be used wall mounted taps. While technically a countertop basin, it does sit inset of the countertop, so installation is a little more involved.
