VitrA Flush Plates

When it comes to flushing a toilet, the most common mechanism that comes to mind is a lever on the cistern. Or, if you’re a little more advanced in years, you might think of a pull chain arrangement. Both of these have been the standby for toilet flushing in the past, but both are being gradually replaced by the ever-popular flush plate. VitrA's flush plates can be a great addition to  a back to wall, wall hung, or VitrA close coupled toilet.

Flush plates are panels that replace the traditional mechanical flushing triggers with simple buttons or, in some cases, electronic controls. They typically come with two options for different volumes of flush, allowing the user to save water if a large flush is not needed. They will need to be compatible with the flushing mechanism in the cistern they are to be installed in. Fortunately, VitrA provides a complete range of sanitary ware products, including cisterns, flushing mechanics, and flush plates.

The simplest offering when it comes to VitrA flush plates is their Original Flush Plate, which is an understated-yet-stylish design with two large, easy-to-use buttons for full and partial flushing. There are no markings on this flush plate—with the size of the button being your clear indicator of which button handles which flush volume—which allows the plate to blend in with your wider bathroom decor and style. The Original Flush Plate is available in a number of different finishes to suit different styles. These finishes include white, black, taupe, and mink, which allows them to blend in with a wide range of colour schemes.

As with many areas of the home and business, sanitary ware is not immune to advancements in technology, as shown by the VitrA Smart Panel flush plate. Fronted with a seamless, glossy black panel, this flush plate is very modern and stylish, not to mention very easy to wipe clean. Like the Original Flush Plate, it features two flush options for a full or partial flush, indicated by the size of the water droplet icon on the touch-sensitive plate. There is also a “periodic flush” option that can be used to periodically wash out the toilet bowl. This minimises the risk of stains taking hold, and keeps waste pipes clear of dirt and debris.

The water-saving features of the plate don’t stop at being able to do a partial flush, however. The VitrA Smart Panel connects to an app that can be installed on your phone or other smart devices, where it will monitor water usage from the instant it is switched on. In addition to monitoring your own water usage, the app will also update you on any local water announcements, as well as power-related announcements. Rounding out the app’s features is the ability to remotely flush the toilet, should the need ever arise.
