If you want the sleek minimalist vibe that a wall hung pan can offer in your bathroom you will need a wall hung frame working behind the scenes to share the load. It will come as no surprise that this set up is becoming increasingly popular in the UK. This is largely due to it keeping the inner workings of the toilet out of the way and not taking up valuable space in your bathroom.
This can be particularly valuable in smaller bathrooms where space is something that is incredibly valuable. It is very clear to see the advantages this set up offers over the standard close-coupled toilet with the cistern at the back.
Selecting a Flush Plate
Apart from the wall hung frame & pan you will also need to select a flush plate to finish it off. This will be the only part of the frame you will see once everything has been installed.
When choosing a frame, the flush plate would be the first decision you'd have to make as this is the part you will see once everything has been installed and the flush plate will need to be from the same manufacturer as your wall hung frame but the pan does not have to be. This can ensure that you concealed cistern’s flush button matches the décor of your bathroom.
Frame Size
The next thing we consider is the WC frame height, generally, the higher the frame the better the flush as gravity can help the water generate more momentum. This can also mean that your seat doesn’t hit the flush plate when it is opened with a high frame. A higher frame is also only really possible when there is not a window above the toilet or any limitations to the height.
If you are unsure about the amount of height you have available there is a frame from Vitra that has a large range of adjustment from 750mm – 1080mm. This will give you a lot more space to find the right frame for you. There are also reduced depth frames that are perfect for a small cavity wall, these frames are approximately 80mm thick and can offer a really slimline option for your wall hung toilet.
